Are you an experienced chef/cook looking for that next opportunity? With Previous experience working in a care home/hospital setting?

As a vital part of the care home team, the Chef/Cook will help to plan and prepare a variety of meals which are appealing, nutritious and centred around our residents' preferences, requests and dietary requirements. You will work with the Kitchen Manager to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen and share our ethos of creating an ambient dining experience at every mealtime helping to create a great place to live for our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Develop menus that cater to the diverse tastes, preferences, and dietary requirements of the residents. Create dishes that promote nutrition and health while providing a delightful dining experience.

• Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation. Ensure that the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and cleanliness are maintained at all times.

• Build meaningful relationships with our residents and their families to understand their individual preferences and dietary restrictions. Accommodate special requests and ensure a personalized dining experience for each resident.

• Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to maintain consistency and excellence in every meal served.

• Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, dietary guidelines, and industry best practices, ensuring the highest level of compliance within the kitchen.

• Work closely with the management team to manage kitchen expenses, control food costs, and ensure efficient procurement of ingredients while maintaining quality.

Experience and Qualification Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Chef/Cook, preferably within a care home/hospital setting or catering varied and seasonal food for large groups of people.

• Extensive knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements, and allergy management.

• Culinary creativity and a passion for creating varied dishes

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the team, residents and their families.

• High standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing dietary needs and preferences.

• Relevant food, hygiene and safety qualifications and certifications.
