Are you seeking a challenging and fulfilling role in a crucial area of healthcare? We are currently seeking a skilled Anatomical Pathology Technologist to join leading healthcare establishment's mortuary team. You will play a vital role in ensuring the respectful handling and examination of deceased individuals, supporting bereaved families, and contributing to the smooth operation of mortuary facilities.

Job Summary:

- Run a safe, secure, and effective mortuary and post mortem service.
- Ensure all deceased individuals are treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
- Undertake various technical tasks in the autopsy room as directed by the pathologist, including post mortem provisions and reconstructions.
- Operate a range of mortuary equipment and participate in manual handling procedures.
- Transfer deceased individuals across the hospital site and input data into computer systems accurately.
- Maintain consent forms and documentation to high standards.
- Prepare deceased individuals for formal identification and viewing by relatives.
- Dispose of clinical waste and maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the mortuary and refrigeration areas.
- Collaborate with the team, covering other members of Mortuary Staff and participating in the on-call rota.

Requirements:

- As a minimum, you're working towards the RSPH Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Science (Anatomical Pathology Technology)
- Familiarity with Cerner computer system
- Previous experience in a mortuary or related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Excellent communication skills and empathy when dealing with bereaved families.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion.
- Willingness to participate in manual handling procedures and work on-call shifts.
