Position Summary
As a Sous Chef at The Scole Inn Hotel, you'll be a crucial part of our kitchen's leadership team, working closely with the Executive Chef to ensure culinary excellence and innovation. Key Responsibilities
Menu Development: Assist in creating innovative and seasonal menus that reflect The Scole Inn Hotel’s standards of quality and excellence.
Kitchen Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the kitchen staff, ensuring the highest level of food quality, presentation, and service.
Training and Development: Mentor and train kitchen staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
Inventory Control: Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and negotiate with vendors to meet quality standards while controlling costs.
Food Safety Compliance: Ensure the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Culinary Expertise: Showcase exceptional culinary skills, staying abreast of current culinary trends and techniques.
Customer Satisfaction: Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests, addressing any concerns with professionalism and care.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a similar leadership role in a reputable kitchen.
Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification.
Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Creative and passionate about food and customer service.
Knowledge of best practices for food safety and sanitation.
