Summary
The Supply Service are recruiting for a Therapeutic Child Carer on behalf of a SEMH Residential home based in Welshpool.
Successful applicants will have the ability to adapt to different settings effectively, whilst supporting children and young people aged 11 to 18 with a range of acute and enduring mental health issues.
Challenging and complex needs are present, including mental health issues and associated learning needs.
The Residential home accommodates a number of young people and staff work on a 2 on - 4 off rota. Sleep-ins are not required for this role.
Responsibilities include:
Be a positive role model whilst leading shifts under the direction of the Home Manager
Creating a positive environment & atmosphere to accommodate the needs of the young person
Providing appropriate care and support as identified in the young person’s placement plan
Providing support & preparation towards independence for young people
Support & Guidance to young people by removing barriers to learning in order to promote effective participation, enhance individual learning, raise aspirations and achieve their potential.
