Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Rotational Pharmacy Technician. We are pleased to be able to offer this as an 'in house' progression training post, enabling you to progress to band 5 upon successful completion of the training.

The role will be based at Woodlands Hospital in Salford but also working across GMMH sites at Bolton and Atherleigh Park.

The role will involve a wide range of duties to include medicines reconciliation, accuracy checking and dispensing.

This post is full time and allows you to develop your current skills within the field of mental health in a fully supportive environment. Flexible working would be considered.

Due to the nature of this role, the ability to travel between sites is required.


1. Responsible for provision of technical service to designated wards and departments, ensuring continuous supply of medicinal products to patients within the trust
2. Accurate use of the Pharmacy IT System to supply constant data on drug expenditure and trends across the directorates within the Trust
3. Participation in accuracy checking of dispensed items.
4. Participation in ward-based duties to include medicines reconciliation, assessment of PODs and liaising with other
5. healthcare professionals to gather relevant information on current medication and compliance status of newly admitted patients.
6. Participate in service developments to improve patient care and or increase efficiency.
7. Provision of a quality service and maintenance of high standards of skills without direct supervision.

Undergo and successfully complete within agreed time periods, formal in-house training as appropriate for personal and professional development.

This role is for a pharmacy technician who is looking to develop their knowledge of Mental health services across Greater Manchester.

Responsibilities will include:- medicine reconciliation across a number of sites for a range of patients with complex health needs ,covering both physical and mental health conditions .

They will also be responsible for accuracy checking dispensed medication for In-patient, out-patient and clinic supplies.

They will have a role in suppling and dispensing in patient medication including ward top ups.
