Summary

A Vacancy at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Do you enjoy working flexibly and creatively with people with complex mental health needs? If so, we would love to hear from you! An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the mental health rehabilitation division on Copeland Ward (Meadowbrook Unit, Salford). Copeland Ward is a mixed sex High Dependency Unit.

Applications from newly qualified psychologists or therapists are welcome, especially if you have pre-qualifying experience of working with complex mental health needs and/or inpatients. Preceptorships will be considered for those who want to build up their experience.

You will receive regular clinical supervision from the Lead Psychologist for Rehabilitation and will also have the opportunity to meet with other Psychologists in the Division on a monthly basis for peer supervision in order to share ideas and support each other.

The current clinical teams warmly welcome psychologically informed input in all aspects of patient care, including assessments, formulations and interventions (individual and group). An ability to work creatively and flexibly with hard-to-engage service users will be an essential aspect of the job. You will have the opportunity to work with service users for an extended period, tailoring your work to meet their needs. This will include the use of models such as CBT, CAT, ACT, Family Interventions, or other evidence-based approaches.

The role will also involve advising staff, facilitating reflective practice, work with carers, and collaboration and consultation with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. You will work within an integrated team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists and support workers. You will be required to provide supervision to an assistant psychologist and other team members.
