Sanctuary Personnel are working with a leading organisation dedicated to the welfare and support of cared for children and care experienced young adults in Northamptonshire. As part of their commitment to continuous improvement, they are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Manager to join our team.

Role Overview:

The Strategic Manager’s role is pivotal, encompassing both operational and strategic responsibilities within our organisation. You will lead the development and provision of support services tailored to meet the needs of cared for children and care experienced young adults. This includes overseeing services for Children in Care and Care Leavers, while providing indirect support to all staff across children's social care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership, management, and advice on matters concerning cared for children and care experienced young adults.
• Support the development and implementation of children’s services’ vision, values, and strategic objectives, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage the budget for Children in Care and Leaving Care Services, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Chair relevant panels, attend key boards, and contribute to decision-making forums as required.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports on service activities to management and elected councillors.
• Foster strategic partnerships with multi-agency stakeholders to promote corporate parenting responsibilities and joint working practices.
• Ensure meaningful participation of cared for children and care experienced young adults in service planning and development.
• Oversee service performance, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based practice aligned with the Signs of Safety model.
• Provide management guidance and support across all areas related to cared for children and care experienced young adults.
• Provide out-of-hours cover as necessary and in accordance with rota requirements.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Qualifications Required:

• BA in Social Work or equivalent
• Post Graduate qualification in Management Studies
• Registration with Social Work England

Knowledge:

• Specialist knowledge in child protection and care services
• Extensive management experience in social care settings
• Advanced understanding of performance management
• Familiarity with relevant social policies and legislation
