Sanctuary Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Rotational Specialist Clinical Pharmacist with Emergency Duty Commitment for an exciting opportunity. Join our client's team and contribute to providing outstanding clinical pharmacy services in accordance with the objectives set by pharmacy management. As a Rotational Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe and effective medication management across various specialties within the healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Specialist Clinical Pharmacy Services:

• Provide specialised clinical pharmacy services to different specialties on a rotational basis, aligning with Pharmacy, Directorate, and objectives.
• Adhere to statutory requirements, regulatory frameworks, and policies to maintain high standards of patient care.
• Foster effective relationships with stakeholders to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
• Supervise pharmacists and technicians within the specialty, ensuring competency and adherence to standards.
• Collaborate with management to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and enhance service quality.

Clinical Pharmacy Services on Wards:

• Ensure optimal patient care through clinical governance principles and adherence to medication management policies.
• Conduct thorough patient drug histories and validate prescriptions for legality, accuracy, and suitability.
• Monitor drug usage, report incidents, and provide timely medication supply to patients.
• Offer medicines information and advice to healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers.

Supervision of Dispensing Activities:

• Oversee dispensing activities, ensuring compliance with policies and clinical accuracy.
• Conduct clinical checks of prescriptions, final checks of dispensed medicines, and handle medicines queries.
• Maintain standards for extemporaneous dispensing and aseptic preparations.
• Handle complaints and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.

Promotion of Evidence-Based Medicine and Risk Management:

• Assist in evaluating new pharmaceutical products and developing clinical guidelines.
• Participate in clinical audits and research initiatives to enhance patient care.
• Manage risks associated with medicines usage, report incidents, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Out-of-Hours Service:

• Provide out-of-hours pharmacist cover as per the rotational rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Participate in emergency dispensing and information provision.

Requirements:

• Master/Bachelor degree in Pharmacy and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Minimum 1 year of pre-registration pharmacy training.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Proficiency in using pharmacy computer systems and MS Office applications.
• Flexibility to travel between hospital sites and participate in on-call duties.
