Our Healthier South East London (OHSEL) Integrated Care System (ICS) has been awarded funding by NHS England and Improvement to establish an ICS wide community multi-systems violence reduction programme (the South East London Vanguard), one of only three pilot sites in London. The SEL Vanguard programme brings together mental health and voluntary sector providers and local authorities and aims to support vulnerable children and young people affected by serious violence. We are currently in the Pilot phase of a three-year programme until September 2025

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Highly Specialist CAMHS Practitioner to join the SEL Vanguard programme. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a responsive community service for young people aged 0-25. The successful candidate will have opportunities to provide specialist consultation, supervision, assessment and intervention. This is a fixed term post for eighteen months, with possibility of extension depending upon the continued success of the pilot project.
• To work closely with all partner agencies on the development and delivery of the CMSVRP Vanguard for South East London
• To provide clinical input for the clinical hub for the SEL Vanguard
• To deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention to young people affected by serious youth violence.
• To provide regular supervision, complex case formulation and reflective practice for case managers and other staff

About Us:

The successful candidate will join the multiagency network currently developing the SEL Vanguard in South East London. You will be involved in the development and delivery of the clinical hub. We envisage this being a multidisciplinary team of professionals who are committed to working with young people affected by serious youth violence in our communities. The hub is hosted by the Adolescent At-risk & Forensic Service (AAFS), National & Specialist CAMHS, and there will be opportunities for some joint working and professional development.
• To provide highly specialist clinical input to the Community Multi-Systems Violence Reduction Programme (CMSVRP; SEL Vanguard), including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
• To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
• To provide clinical supervision, reflective practice and consultation as appropriate – embedding the Principles of Trauma-Informed Practice.
• Functioning as a lead specialist in assessment and intervention work with children and families – including evidence-based trauma-focussed and trauma-informed approaches.
• To undertake service evaluation, audit and research.
• To work as an autonomous professional within the code of conduct of the relevant professional body and HCPC guidelines - and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.
• To agree outcomes/results with clinical/professional lead and to decide how they are best achieved.
• To support the co-production and engagement strategy within the team – including designing and delivering training to stakeholders.
