Summary

Cleaning Supervisor required to manage a team of up to 8
Role requires that the applicant has lived in the united kingdom for a minimum of 5 years
All applicants will be required to undergo enhanced security clearance

The role is based at one main site with 3 satellite locations
Role is 5 out of 7 days

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Hands on day to day manage a team of Operatives to ensure compliance and professional, cost effective service delivery is maintained. To act as an interface between the Operative team and the client and to report issues arising to Line Manager or departmental manager. Also role is Safety champion for the site so must drive training and report on all H&S portals

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for Service Delivery of Operative Team;

- Assist with the recruitment and supervision of staff;

- May produce rotas for the operative team;

- Supervises the performance of the operative team

- Proactive reporting of all Health and Safety issues;

- To manage the issue and upkeep of PPE to the team;

- To ensure that the operative team are appropriately dressed at all times whilst on duty;

- To manage stock levels and equipment;

- To conduct job chats with the operative team to identify training requirements;

- Assist in the preparation of the payroll;

- Liaise with the client to ensure customer satisfaction with the service provided;

- To contribute to the achievement of sustainability objectives through personal behaviour and adapting working practices where required.

OPERATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
►Accountable for the completion of standard or non-standard tasks within own area;
►Acts as part of a team to deliver activities which support operational objectives;
►Manages a variety of tasks and is able to plan accordingly within the short-term;
►Makes decisions within parameters set by manager, using job/specialist experience;
►Maybe subject to regular local supervision of progress against results and escalates issues when required;
►Interacts with stakeholders around specific work efforts and deliverables;
►Supports delivery of Health and Safety policy and standards including but not limited to food safety;
►Supervises the activities of others to meet deadlines and quality standards taking account of impact outside area of responsibility.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
►Supervises a small team;
►Able to organise a small team of individuals carrying out similar tasks;
►May assist less experienced staff;
►Manages the delivery of a team and escalates individual performance issues;
►Job holder will maintain professional relationship with all customers or building users;
►The Job Holder is responsible for the supervision and development of others;
►Job Holder will be required to liaise effectively with internal teams, and local clients to successfully achieve outputs.

DIMENSIONS

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Financial responsibility (Amount in £s and type of Budgets e.g. people, projects etc and whether they have indirect or direct responsibility for the finances to be added in to Additional Information)

►Supports the identification of ways to reduce cost;
►Has awareness of cost/benefit as applicable to tasks performed;
►May work within a given budget.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Use the Success Factors to describe the Knowledge, Skills and Experience required to competently fulfil the role.

►For non-supervisory roles performs skilled work requiring technical training (NVQ3 or equivalent);
►Up to 3 years business experience, Level 3 NVQ or Certificate Level of Qualification or graduate entry point Level.

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY

The Job Holder is subject to managerial control and the job is generally subject to practices and procedures that have clear precedents, or are covered by closely defined policies.

Job Holder would be expected to challenge unsafe practice.

Job Holder may be required to make decisions in relation to the supervision of their team to including recruitment, performance management and highlighting other people related processes.
