Summary


The post holder will be responsible for the LGI Data Collection Set (NBOCAP) and the Bariatric Data collection Set (NBSR) within General Surgery. The post holder will be responsible for Data Submission for both specialities and provide reports to the individual teams.



The post holder will support the Trust and the teams to meet statutory and regulatory compliance with national requirements and standards including the administration of our internal quality assurance processes.



The post holder will support the clinical audit programmes for both specialities within the Division and help with the development and implementation of clinical audit projects to bring about demonstrable improvement in patient care.



Encourage and Support Healthcare Professionals at all levels in the development of Databases



Ensure accurate Surgical LGI Input to NBOCAP



Ensure accurate Bariatric Data Input to NBSR



Ensure accurate record keeping



Analyse and Interpret Data and when necessary undertake complex data analysis and explain findings to relevant staff



Attend and present at Clinical Governance as required to ensure the individual teams are kept up to date with their current Clinical Data and action plans by providing expert advice, support and guidance on Data Design and methodology



Monitor and deliver progress reports to each speciality



Undertake Data Validation, investigating any data quality issues and / or system failures. Ensure any concerns are escalated to line manager



Contribute to the development of proformas and other Data collection tools to aid collection required for any national Data required
