Summary

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Housing Support Worker to work part time (25 hours per week) based in Leeds, LS14.

The salary for this permanent job is up to £27,344 p.a. pro rata

The client is looking for a special, empathetic and compassionate person to take the lead in housing support at our dedicated supported housing service for 10 vulnerable adults with long-term enduring mental health needs.

They invite people that believe it is the fundamental right of everyone to be treated in a way that respects their dignity and privacy. They are keen to speak to people who are dedicated to enabling and empowering people to recover from serious mental illness and learn how to care for themselves and move towards gaining the necessary skills to live independently and integrate into the local community.

They are keen to attract people who have considerable prior experience of working in supported housing services, managing housing related support and supporting people with mental health problems.

Requirements of this job:

• Level 3 in Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent, or willingness to undertake this
• Significant experience of working as a housing support worker and have a Housing related qualification
• Experience working within the mental health sector, social care sector and/or supporting people experiencing emotional distress
• Proven track record with case load management and knowledge of current benefits system
• Experience involving people accessing services in the design and development of the services they used with a strong focus on listening to people with lived experiences.
• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding of safeguarding for adults
• Self-awareness and willingness to engage in reflective practice and ongoing personal development.
• Understanding of the need to keep within professional boundaries
• The ability to be flexible to fit in with the shift patterns including days, nights, weekends and bank/public holidays.
