Summary


The MDCU is a unit that covers 6 specialties of day case activity. We operate from Mon-Fri 8-4pm, and closed weekends and Bank Holidays.

The role of the inpatient booking officer is undertake a full range of Patient Booking Functions required by the trust.

To maintain good communication and relationships with patients/relatives and staff.

This is an exciting opportunity to work along side a great team within the Medical Day Unit on Ward 10 in Broad green Hospital

The successful candidate will need excellent IT skills and good communication skills

The role of the inpatient booking officer is to add patients to the waiting list from information given via email or via the referral system which is specific for the MDCU.

The successful candidate will need good IT skills and communication skills as will be speaking to patients or any staff from the MDT over the phone or face to face.

Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage

The role of the inpatient booking officer is to add patients to the waiting list from information given via email or via the referral system which is specific for the MDCU.

The successful candidate will be ensuring all patients have appointments booked in which can either be routine tests or urgent. They will need to complete and send out letters use the Doctor Doctor text system and to ensure that the MDCU waiting list is checked on a daily basis and cleared for all patients appointments.

The candidate would need to deal with patients enquiries regarding their appointments if a patient contacts the MDCU. Also to remove any patients from the waiting list when requested from consultants.
