Summary


We currently have a vacancy for a full time Band 6 Clinical Nurse Educator based primarily on Morris, our Cardiac Surgery ward with an additional scope to provide support to CICU education team.

If you have 3 years post registration experience in cardiac surgery we would like to hear from you.

You must be educated to degree standard (or be willing to undertake this), relevant to the speciality and have a recognised teaching qualification. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are essential.

You must have excellent clinical knowledge and skills, demonstrated through completion of competency packages.

The Clinical Nurse Educator works closely with the Unit Ward Managers, Matron and Practice Development Matrons to improve and shape the education, knowledge and clinical competence of all grades of the CICU /CHDU/Morris nursing team.

An informal visit is highly recommended.

A proactive role model who leads in the clinical environment on the provision of clinical education and assessment of competence in the ward /department

Supports and deputises for the ward manager, taking managerial, clinical, and professional responsibility for a team of nurses.

Supports staff, ensuring the provision of high quality patient care in the most efficient and safe manner in accordance with directorate and hospital policies and procedures

CICU & Morris have a well-structured development program for Band 5 nurses catering for all levels of experience which is enhanced by our own unit clinical educator. We also offer the opportunity to rotate to other clinical areas within Heart Services.
