With openings at our NHS 111 contact centre based either in Middlebrook, Bolton or Estuary Point, Speke, as a Senior Clinical Advisor you will be responsible for the telephone & video assessment of callers with a wide spectrum of clinical conditions and ensuring they get the right care, at the right time, in the right place; every time.
Training for this role is on a full-time basis and lasts between 5 and 10 weeks, depending on the triage tool that staff are being trained to use. The classroom element of the training is Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00, with mentorship taking place working shifts with experienced staff taking live calls. Candidates must ensure that they are able to commit to this training IN FULL, as no annual leave can be taken whilst in training.
What we are looking for:
• Registered nurse’s or paramedics with at least 3 years’ experience; preferably in a pre-hospital, primary care or ED setting.
• Excellent leadership and mentoring skills to support staff.
• Resilient, highly motivated and passionate about delivering quality patient care.
• An ability to adapt to a new and challenging setting.
• Basic computer skills.
• What we offer in return: • Contracts available for minimum of 20 hours up to 37.5 hours.

• Basic salary of £35,392 - £42,618 (pro rata for part time staff) plus A4C Section 2 unsocial hour’s payments.

We are recruiting for fully flex staff who are able to commit to work 7.5 hour shifts between 0500 and 0200 (Bolton) and between 0600 and 0200 (Liverpool). Fully flex staff are required to be available to work 3 out of 4 weekends across the time windows above.
We are also recruiting for night shift patterns that work on a 4 on 4 off basis. Staff will not necessarily start on week one of the night rota and will be assigned a starting week dependent on where the rota gaps exist. Please note that if interested in a night shift pattern, these are only being recruited to at our Bolton contact centre at this time.
This is a vital patient care role that delivers high quality clinical advice to patients who have called the 24-hour NHS 111 service.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

virtual support sessions
We have a series of virtual support sessions planned for applicants who are interested in the role. These sessions look at the role in a little more detail and will allow you the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have. The sessions also include a short demonstration of the online application system that we use, and how to navigate your way around it along with some application hints and tips for those who might need these.
There is no need to pre book onto the sessions – just turn up at the session that is the most convenient for you. The sessions are being hosted on Microsoft Teams, which will run on most computers, tablets, and mobile phones. The session dates and times are below, along with the Teams link. We anticipate the sessions lasting between an hour and a half, and two hours although this is dependent on how many questions get asked on the day.
