Summary
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the shop.
• Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of sales and related workers in the shop.
• Lead by example and motivate the team to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
• Maintain a positive and productive work environment, fostering teamwork and cooperation.
• Establish and monitor work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal utilisation of staff to meet sales and productivity targets.
• Make adjustments to schedules as needed, taking into account business trends and employee availability.
• Liaise with the shop manager and other departments to promptly resolve any operational issues that may arise.
• Determine and recommend staffing needs to meet sales and productivity target.
• Assist in the recruitment and training of new staff as required.
• Identify training needs and support employee development to enhance their skills and performance.
• Maintain accurate records of daily sales and other relevant data.
• Prepare regular reports on departmental activities and present them to the manager.
SKILLS:
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive work culture.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff and customers effectively.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
• A passion for customer service and a keen eye for visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours as per business needs.
• Knowledge of South Asian foods is an advantage but not mandatory.
EXPERIENCE
d) Prospective employee should have at least one-year practical experience in the relevant field.
