Churchill Hospital is a centre of excellence for cancer services and other specialties, including renal services and transplant, clinical and medical oncology, dermatology, haemophilia, chest medicine and palliative care. It’s also a major centre for healthcare research.



We are actively seeking to recruit a Medical Gas & Ventilation Specialist to join our friendly team to provide engineering support to enable the medical professionals to carry out their healthcare needs. This is a full time role based at Churchill Hospital working 40 hours per week.



Responsibilities:

Act as AP for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Medical Gases on site and undertake specialist works including planning of these in line with HTM 03-01 and HTM 02-01.
Write up maintenance reports and technical procedures for Building Maintenance Activities allied to Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Medical Gases.
Carry out maintenance, inspection and repairs to various types of ventilation and medical gas systems.
Diagnosing faults on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Medical Gas support systems and rectifying where necessary.
Assisting in the development of maintenance routines, procedures, risk assessments, preparing and maintaining relevant technical records..
Working with other craft qualified, semi-skilled and unskilled maintenance staff to develop cross-skilling and cover all levels and aspects of maintenance activities on a team work basis..
Assist in the training and development of other maintenance/technical staff.
Participate in emergency call out arrangements and provide cover where necessary during sickness absence periods.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Essential Criteria:

5 years experience within building and facilities maintenance
Level 3 qualification in related trade
Experience managing staff and subcontractors
