Hello!

My name is Hannah Wilkins, I am the Operational Manager of the John Radcliffe Pharmacy. I am privileged to lead our very hardworking, friendly, and committed Dispensary team in providing a dispensary service, supplying inpatient, outpatient, and discharge medication to Patients of the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

I am looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and proactive Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a Dispensary Co-ordinator. If you are looking to develop your leadership, organisational and operational skills then I want to hear from you!

The Pharmacy Technician role is varied, and requires flexibility in your approach to work whilst supporting dispensary. The successful applicant will be required to assist in the smooth running of the dispensary, providing co-ordinator support to the dispensary team together with the Senior Technician. You will support the training and induction of new members of the team, pharmacy apprentices, trainee technicians and pharmacists working alongside you.

This is a varied role including labelling and dispensing and checking duties, monitoring of workload and our tracking screen to support our TTO KPI, patient counselling and much more! Excellent customer service skills are essential in this role as you will answer the phone, dealing with queries from our service users, and cover both staff and out-patient reception.

The candidate will be required to work jointly with the Pharmacy Operational and Dispensary teams in the following key areas:
• Providing regular dispensing/checking duties as directed by the Senior Technicians.
• Providing the final ACT check on dispensed items.
• Assisting in training and induction of new members of staff.
• Team leader responsibilities within the dispensary, together with the Senior Technicians, or in the absence of Senior Technicians, and at weekends.
• Monitoring of workload and tracking screen to support our TTO KPI.
• Providing support to the team with regards to resolving CD balance discrepancies.

The candidate will be dispensary based, and be required to participate in weekend working on a 1:6 rota basis, early and late duty and bank holiday rotas.

This post can be offered as a progression post, initially starting as Band 4, then continuing onto Band 5 upon completion of relevant training courses (Accredited Checking Technician).

The post is part time, 15 hours, working Monday & Tuesday 9:00 - 17:15, however flexible working options may also be considered.
