About the Role

Base Location: Glasgow or Perth

Salary: £38,700 - £58,100 + car / car allowance + performance related bonus and a range of other benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Stakeholder Engagement Manager to develop and deliver effective stakeholder engagement and communications plans for our central and southern Scotland onshore wind projects and assets. In this role, you'll build strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders, while also enhancing the value and protecting the reputation of SSE Renewables as a responsible developer. You'll work closely with the development and operational teams, as well as with joint venture partners to identify and manage the opportunities and risks facing projects and assets, enabling SSE Renewables to achieve its aims and objectives.

SSE Renewables is the leading developer, owner, and operator of onshore and offshore wind farms in the UK and Ireland, with a vision to make renewable energy the foundation of a zero-carbon world. We own nearly 2GW of operational onshore wind capacity in Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and with over 1GW under development, it's an exciting time to be a part of the onshore team.

Key responsibilities include:

- Creating a strategy for communicating, consulting, and engaging with external audiences and individuals who are critical for projects to progress positively through planning and into delivery.

- Establishing and maintaining trusted external relationships with stakeholders, including members of the public, local authorities, elected representatives, and community organisations.

- Identifying opportunities for local collaboration, managing reputational risks, and ultimately delivering positive outcomes for both stakeholders and the business.

- Working closely with key project team members and Corporate Affairs colleagues working on public affairs, policy, media, communication, and brand.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A track record of developing and delivering stakeholder engagement strategies to reach key stakeholder and deliver favourable outcomes. You'll also have experience of successfully liaising with communities, businesses, and other stakeholders, demonstrated through your professional experience, preferably in the renewables or a related industry.

- The ability to proactively identify potential issues in order to engage, mitigate and respond to issues as they arise in order to achieve a successful outcome for all involved.

- Experience of building trusted relationships, and effectively managing conflict and brokering solutions.

- Strong communications skills and experience of applying these across a range of platforms, depending on project and audience. For example, websites, social media, print media, letters, presentations, community events and meetings.

- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage a changeable workload and an ability to thrive on a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.
