Summary
About the role:
The service is responsible for the assessment prospective private foster carers. This is a challenging and rewarding role which involves the preparation of assessments for Fostering Panels and supporting carers who are caring for children within Devon in Private Fostering arrangements who reside in Devon.
You will champion high standards of professional social work practice and have sound knowledge in private fostering regulations and legal options available to children to be cared for by those who do not have parental responsibility.
About you:
You will have the following skillset;
* Be an experienced social worker with child protection/safeguarding experience
* Have at least 2 years post qualifying experience
* An understanding of private fostering regulations
* Robust post qualifying social work experience within children and families
* Experience of working within child protection
* Experience and skills in working with wider family and family networks
* Knowledge about all the different legal options for children to be looked after by persons from within their network. These include informal family and friends arrangements, private fostering, Family and Friends Fostering, Special Guardianship, and Child Arrangement Orders
* A willingness to work across the whole of the Kinship Care Service depending on the requirements of both services
