Summary

Manpower is recruiting Painters and Decorators on behalf of our public sector client, the NHS.

Location: Swansea

Job type: Temporary

Duration: 12 weeks minimum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30 am - 3.30 pm

Hourly rate: £12.86 (Band 4)

The role
You will be responsible for maintaining, painting and decorating the building infrastructure.

You will work in compliance with maintenance policies and procedures ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for all. This is a multi skilled role involving various trade duties.

Main duties & Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from instructions drawings and specifications for painting and decorating without supervision.
  • Use and erect various equipment e.g., ladders, scaffolding and mechanical platforms as required
  • Prepare surfaces for painting and cleaning.
  • Assist with glazing tasks.
  • Ensure smooth communication between staff.
  • Provide technical guidance.
  • Keep work areas safe and tidy.
  • Assist with various building tasks.
  • Collaborate with supervisors for efficiency.
  • Complete documentation accurately.
  • Carry communication devices for quick responses.
  • Report equipment issues promptly.
  • Work alone in different areas.
  • Follow health and safety procedures.


Health and Safety:

  • Work in various conditions including confined spaces and hot environments
  • Work in varied conditions and heights.
  • Handle substances and engage in manual handling.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.


Person Specification: Qualifications
Completion of a structured training program/apprenticeship in painting/decorating
BTEC/HNC Level in Building Services or equivalent experience
City & Guilds Part II or NVQ Level III or equivalent experience

Experience
3+ years post apprenticeship in maintenance,
Working on a wide range of building services.

Knowledge

  • Health and Safety At Work Ac
  • Extensive construction knowledge
  • Working knowledge of relevant statutory regulations, policies and procedures.
