Summary


Rayne Ward has a wonderful opportunity for a new or experienced Ward Manager to join it's supportive and dynamic teamto care for a 32 bedded ward.

You will be required to lead and develop a team of staff, promoting the development of advanced nursing and teaching skills within the ward, ensuring the team is dedicated to delivering excellent standards of care, throughout the patient’s journey.

You will need to be visionary and dynamic in driving the team forward in a rapid changing environment as you are required to liaise closely with other departments within the Trust acting as an effective leader both professionally and managerially for all members of nursing staff and maintaining and developing high standards of care, whilst planning and implementing ward based and directorate teaching programs, assessing the training needs of nursing staff in conjunction with the Practice Education Facilitator Team.

Your role is to develop all staff to communicate effectively with members of the multi-disciplinary team, patients and families and be responsible for the overall management of the ward and to be a point of contact for all ward staff as necessary.

Rayne ward is a face-paced environment who support the organisation through supporting medical outlier patients. It is important for the candidate to ensure they are able to support the team through various transitions and lead them positively.

Participating in policy and service development by working alongside the divisional clinical governance and operational team ensuring that all policies and protocols in the ward are current, suitable and safe to provide care and services to our service users.

In conjunction with the Matron take financial responsibility for skill mix and buying in temporary staff, including responsibility for e-rostering for permanent staff and authorisation of temporary staff; and the ward budget holder.

Plan duty rotas to ensure the most effective utilisation of nursing time. Coordinate annual leave entitlement. Effectively manage skill mix within ward staffing budget.

Be pro-active in leading the team with information governance and ensuring the security of patient’s data and all staff adheres to their mandatory training in governance and confidentiality.

To proactively follow in incidences and investiagtions via the online systems and work closely with our valued governance facilitators.
