Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the clerical support staff to the Virology Laboratory at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospital NHS trust on the Hull Site.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work in a fast paced office environment, who can handle a variety of office duties to provide a high quality service to our patients and users.

You will be working alongside an experienced admin team where full training on our systems will be provided.

If applying for this role on a secondment basis please gain approval from your current line manager before applying.
• Data Inputting patient requests & information quickly & accurately.
• Receiving calls for the department on behalf of consultants and other laboratory staff, taking accurate telephone messages and results when given.
• Ensure all electronic & paper records are correct and up to date, including paper & electronic archive filing.
• Sending specimens to external reference laboratories, including correct packaging, logging of details/results sent & received back.
• Participates in weekend and bank holiday working on a rota system.

Hours of work Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5.00pm (1hr lunch)
