Summary
You will be supporting a 20 year old individual who lives in Thurmaston to access the community.
Hours per week: 9 hours a week (weekdays and weekends) Flexible.
Hourly rate: £12.44 per hour (employed), £16.00 per hour (self-employed).
PA duties: Take client Swimming-4 hrs a week (This includes travelling to and from, time to be hoisted in and out of the
swimming pool etc). Swimming pool staff will oversee the hoisting.
Other social inclusion activities (going to the movies, going out to a club)-5hrs a week.
Successful PA will have use of the client’s mobility vehicle.
Client enjoys Swimming, going to the movies, playing pool.
Details about relevant diagnosis: Client has a degenerative condition (Congenital Myopathy) that causes very poor muscle control. Wheelchair dependent and requires a high level of support with mobility needs to ensure safety. Risks of falls requires support to access the community.
Moving and handling support needed: - Hoisting in and out of swimming pool – swimming pool staff will oversee this.
You will ideally have a DBS certificate, but can be applied if not.
Preferably experienced with moving and handling. However we can provide details of where you can access these training courses.
