School of GeoSciences
Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week
Contract Type - Open Ended
The Opportunity:
As a key member of the Schools Technical Services Team, the post holder will provide critical technical support to School of GeoSciences, based in the Mechanical Workshop the post holder will be required to manufacture components to a high standard to preserve the workshops reputation for producing high quality mechanical fittings. The post also integrates fieldwork responsibilities, both providing mechanical and maintenance support as well as assisting the requester in their needs during day and residential trips.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week).
Your skills and attributes for success:
Strong Engineering skills to include CNC Programming, Turning, Milling and Fabrication.
Ability to work from design drawings with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills when dealing face to face with requesters.
Good understanding of Health and Safety principles.
Willingness to learn new skills to coincide with advancements in technology.
