Summary

Your new role
The Planning Manager will ensure all correspondence andcommunications with the customer are carried out in a timely and professionalmanner at all times. Become the go-to person for your area of responsibility.


Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop existing and new customersthrough appropriate communications.
  • Analyse and interpret customer schedulerequirements to ensure on time deliveries.
  • Analyse, communicate with and schedule onsuppliers and own manufacturing sites ensuring JIT deliveries whilst minimisinginventory holdings.
  • Ensure the material planning cycle is accuratelyreflected in our MRP (Material Planning) system.
  • Enter or maintain customer schedules, via EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) and other processes in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To be responsible for and the first point ofcontact for specific customers; maintain and develop existing customersdevelopment plans and progress shortages to ensure on time deliveries.
  • Analyse, evaluate and action MRP to ensuremaximum on time deliveries with minimum inventory holding.

  • Continually work to improve working processes,on time deliveries and cost reductions in conjunction with other departments
  • Maintain data integrity and support finance,quality and dispatch teams with day-to-day operations.
  • Analyse and interpret large sets of data and beable to present in a way in which people will understand.
  • Being the key liaison between internal departmentsand customers.
  • Use initiative to resolve issues and not beafraid of making decisions.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience in a very similar role either within Materials, Production or Supply Chain Planning. You will have excellent people management skills as you will be leading a large and diverse team, all with different levels of experience.

You will be determined and driven to succeed, possess excellent customer service skills and be able to prioritise a busy workload and have excellent problem solving skills. Excellent ICT skills will also be required with strong experience in using MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.A background or experience from either a logistics, manufacturing or production environment would be advantageous.
