We are a family run business that has 2 nurseries & preschools in the Bristol area, one in Kingswood and one in Keynsham taking children from 6 months to school age.

The Role

Are you based in Kingswood, Keynsham or the surrounding area, looking for a role close to home or to work in this area? We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly people to join Orchard Lea Nursery in Kingswood (BS15) or Keynsham (BS31) on either a Full Time or Part Time basis.

Ideally the candidates will hold a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent (or above) qualification however, we will be happy to accept candidates with a minimum of a Level 2 qualification.

In line with our recruitment policy, any successful applicant is expected to provide satisfactory references and submit a DBS application. They are also expected to complete statutory training for example; Prevent, FGM , Child Protection, Safer Food Handling. Also, to attend staff meetings and updates.

A valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate is desirable however, there will be opportunity to obtain this through the Nursery.

The successful candidate will need to be a team player who is:
• A confident good communicator, with literacy and IT skills. We use tablets for recording EYFS, training will be given.
• Have an empathic and fun approach to children’s learning.
• Be organised, motivated and proactive within the team.
The nursery is supported by a strong administration team including HR coordinator, an EYP, SENCO and Forest School Lead. As part of the team you will be supported by your Room Lead, Deputy and Nursery Manager. Orchard Lea operates a buddy system.

Hours
We operate a 4.5 day fixed shift system between the hours of 07:30am – 18:00pm for full time roles (shifts would be either 0730am-1730pm or 0800-1800pm). We will be happy to consider hours of between 36 and 40 per week – please speak with us and let us know what you are you looking for.

We are also looking forward to speaking with anyone who would like to work on a Part Time basis.

The role has the following responsibilities:
• Good organisation and communication skills
• Support personal development in children working within the EYFS
• Contribute to the planning and activities for the children
• Maintain accurate records of learning and observations and complete required paperwork to required standards
• Support and develop your own group of key children
• Always ensure the safety and wellbeing of children
• Build relationships with parents, carers and colleagues

The Candidate
We are looking for a motivated individual who enjoys the company of and communicating with children. The ideal candidate must be a team player and enthusiastic about supporting children. We require the candidate to hold a minimum of a Level 2 NVQ or equivalent qualification.
We require the candidate to have knowledge of the EYFS and the key worker system. Ongoing training and support are provided by the Nursery.
