Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for the correct candidate to join our Anaesthetic and Recovery team.

The post is suitable for either an ODP or Nurse with experience in both anaesthetic and recovery areas. This post is suitable for students who are due to qualify this year who will hold an anaesthetic qualification.

Our new theatre suite designed for Day Case & Inpatients, boasts state of the art equipment and staffing levels that provide an exemplary environment where best practice can be achieved.

Our specialities (Adult & Paediatric, elective and emergency) include:
General, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Urology, Vascular, ENT, Dental, Cardiology, Thoracic, Cardiac, Farage & Maternity

At Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust your skills are recognised and appreciated The Anaesthetic and Recovery Team (AR team) provide emergency anaesthetic cover to:
A&E emergency room, Intensive care, MRI & CT, Intra- & Inter-Hospital transfers.

Accountable within the theatre team to ensure that the standard of patient care is of a high level, quality being of prime importance. To adhere to and practice within the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Professional Conduct and Health and Care Professions Council’s standards. Ensure adherence to agreed Trust policies.

The position is primarily a theatre anaesthetic and recovery practitioner although some rotation and flexibility will be required to meet service needs. The post-holder will be called upon, occasionally to take charge of the unit/area. The post holder will be expected to participate in internal rotation, weekend, unsocial hours and on call duties.
• Anaesthetics and Recovery
• Ensure all policies/protocols/standards are adhered to
• Maintain Health and Safety for all staff, patients, visitors and members of the multi-disciplinary team following Trust
• Adhere to the Control of Infection policy
• Attend yearly updates for all mandatory training
