Summary

Providing high quality support including domestic care, social & leisure outings, gym attendance, beach visits, walks, lunches out while enabling him to be an independent individual. You will also need to work closely with the Occupational Therapist in supporting the individual in learning to use assistive technology for the visually impaired. What you will be working: You would be working 24 hours per week on a shift rota basis: Monday - 12pm until 4pm Wednesday - 12pm until 4pm Thursday - 12pm until 6pm Friday - 12pm until 4pm Saturday - 12pm until 6pm Availability for additional evening work when required is desirable. Salary: £14.00 per hour 45p per mile when using own car to transport client What you will be doing: Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters but taking into consideration cognitive problems Liaise with and support the family as required Assist the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintained Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events Follow the service user plan as documented for the client Maintain accurate and confidential records Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate Westcountry Case Management are a friendly, forward-thinking company who help our clients recruit their own support workers.
