Summary


We have an exciting opportunity for a Radiology Clinical Services Manager to join our team in a forward thinking radiology department at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. This post is based at Maidstone Hospital primarily however some cross site travel will be required.

The post holder will provide proactive and responsive practical support to ensure the efficient use of capacity and timely patient flow within and out of the department. They will support efficient and seamless processes through the department for both elective and acute work

They will make an effective contribution to reaching the Trust's vison, strategic objectives and key work programmes and ensure radiographers/ sonographers, support staff and students are enabled to meet the Trusts values and behaviours within the clinical practice settings.

The post holder will deputise for the Head of Service for Radiology and will support the Superintendent team with the day to day running of the department.
• To support the business planning process for the department, identifying cost improvements and service development.
• To be responsible for the provision of a safe, effective and responsive imaging service.
• To be responsible for recruitment, selection and appointment of staff ensuring all HR policies relating to sickness, performance and disciplinary are adhered to.
• To ensure there are clear lines of communication both within the department and to external stakeholders.
• To provide expert advice for the effective procurement of imaging equipment.
• To support the Radiology Directorate Leadership Team in developing, managing and delivering high quality, responsive and effective services in line with the Trust’s strategic direction.
• To perform annual appraisals, ensure all staff are appraised and make sure staff have access to CPD facilities and attend appropriate courses in line with the Trust statutory and mandatory training requirements.
• Lead on the development and maintenance of a positive culture which is inclusive, compassionate and high performing. It will support career development, recruitment and retention of the clinical workforce and their effective contribution to service delivery and improvement.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients – the first of its kind in the country.
