The role
As a Working Supervisor - Vehicle Mechanic, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is great opportunity to be an integral part in a small close-knit team who ensure the delivery teams have everything they need to deliver efficiently and safely.

Day to day, you'll lead a small team and perform service delivery activities as part of the overall team's outputs. They provide the supervisory and first line management responsibilities to smaller and often remote teams located in locations such as In Barrack Equipment Support (IBES) sites and onsite customer service. You'll also ensure systems are updated to reflect current production status providing visibility.

  • Managing employee lifecycle (recruitment through to exit processes)
  • Managing employee relations (disciplinary, grievance, welfare)
  • Performance management (including objective setting, appraisals, managing poor performance, reward/recognition)
  • Managing resource levels (absence management, annual leave, use of overtime)
  • System administration - ERP, safety near misses, asset management, quality, Quality Management System (QMS)

This role is full time typically working 37-hours per week and will be based at our Cottesmore site.

Essential experience of the Working Supervisor - Vehicle Mechanic:

  • Competent PC user (MS Office, MS Outlook, SharePoint, ERP system)
  • Ability to manage people, individuals, and teams.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to challenge and have awkward conversations.
  • Ability to make rational decisions based on information available.

Qualifications for the Working Supervisor - Vehicle Mechanic:

  • Completed relevant technical or vocational qualification equivalent to NQF Level 3 (Advanced apprenticeship, level 3 NVQ)
  • Educated to Level 2 in National Qualification Framework (NQF) as a minimum (Intermediate apprenticeship, Level 2 NVQ, GCSE - Grade A* - C, O Level A - C, CSE Grade1) or equivalent workplace experience

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
