Summary
Several exciting opportunities have arisen within our operational Voids team in Redcar for qualified and experienced Joiners.
We are looking for six Joiners to join our Voids team. Being multi-skilled and capable of completing various repairs is essential as part of the role. The main responsibilities will involve upgrading void bathrooms to include showers. This entails installing thermostatic mixer taps, repairing plaster and removing wall tiles, and cladding the walls around the bath area, as well as addressing any necessary repairs to pipework boxings.
Your main duties would be:
Working in a team to install kitchens, windows and doors
Working within our empty homes, voids and repairs and maintenance to meet the demands of the business
Carrying out minor building multi-skill works, including brickwork replacement, plastering, small tiling jobs, plumbing, gutting and glazing
Delivering service in accordance with the company’s planned operating standards
Providing service to our customers in line with the company’s customer and quality standards
Responding to all work related issues via the company’s communication systems, which may include PDA or IT systems
Recording work activities carried out, including assessing and recording the materials used.
Being responsible for your own compliance to health and safety legislation and for the safety of any recipients of the service
Assisting in the maintenance and security of plant machinery and vehicles as and when required.
As part of this role, you may need to mentor an apprentice, volunteer or work experience placement.
Please note the salary displayed includes our tool allowance and multiskilling allowance, so you'll also need to be able to do:
Wall tiling and floor tiling, such as removal of wall tiles, and where there is an acceptable asbestos check in place, removal of floor tiles. The skills required will involve tiling of wall and floor tile of areas as required including setting out, matching tiles to existing, cutting/shaping and grouting
Making good painting
Making good plastering
Making good brickwork (i.e. make good frames and hole patches)
Basic plumbing repairs, including removal and replacement of inset sink, taps and sink waste to allow for the replacement of worktops.
As part of this role, you may also be eligible for callout payments, which will be discussed if you are invited to an interview.
