Queen Elizabeth High School is part of the Three Counties Academy Trust (TCAT) which includes three local Primary schools.
Located in the town of Bromyard, Herefordshire, we are an 11-16 academy having converted in 2011. Set amidst spectacular scenery with stunning views of the Malvern Hills and even the Black Mountains on a clear day, the town of Bromyard is only 20 minutes from Hereford and 25 minutes from Worcester, making it close enough to the major transport networks to commute by road and rail.
QEHS has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, energetic, and innovative Boys PE HLTA to join our highly successful team of mutually supportive colleagues whose shared purpose is to inspire and challenge all pupils at QEHS. This position is only open for MALES
The successful candidate will: be able to deliver inspiring and exciting learning experiences in Physical Education within Key Stage 3 and 4 and to GCSE standard. The role will include:-• supervising the boys’ changing rooms • delivering small group PE interventions • taking a leading role in managing and delivering PE support to pupils • assisting in the delivery of PE • developing methods of supporting pupils, both within and outside the mainstream, in achieving success in PE at Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four• assisting and supporting teachers in delivering high quality coaching • setting up and coaching out of school hours sports clubs, encouraging attendance in particular by children who do not usually participate in sport• contributing to the development of opportunities for boys in sport • building the confidence of pupils to engage and achieve in the subject • identifying and developing suitable pathways for pupils experiencing difficulty in engaging with the curriculum• advising staff on general and specific issues around learning, especially in PE • assessing needs and developing and maintaining education and pastoral support plans • building excellent relationships with pupils • supporting & leading sporting fixtures around the community • promoting inclusion in the school • ensuring that pupils are challenged and encouraged to engage in school and aim high • developing and maintaining excellent relationships with parents and carers to ensure that pupils are able to enjoy and achieve• ensure the behaviour management system is implemented in the subject area so that effective learning can take place• liaising with and supporting appropriate staff inside and outside the school to help support pupils • undertaking other duties, such as clerical and support work, supervision and invigilation, to support the work of the school where needed• attending staff meetings for curriculum, tutor teams, etc • establishing productive working relationships with student, acting as a mentor • setting targets and providing feedback to pupils • to undertake cover lessons • undertaking break duties to support the smooth running of the school • supporting Facilities and PE in tidying setting up/down maintain equipment
