Summary
Quality Use a person centred approach to support a person experiencing challenging behaviour to have access to activities which enhance their wellbeing Ensure good communication with nursing staff prior to all activities to ensure any risks are identified and to raise any concerns noted appropriately Ensure that duties are not undertaken if they are beyond the competence of the post holders level of experience or qualification To be able to utilise feedback mechanisms and create evidence to promote the service To assist in monitoring and evaluating the service as directed to provide feedback and statistical data to inform future development of the service Maintaining a Safe Environment Take responsibility for maintaining own and others health, safety and security Ensure own actions assist with maintaining best practice and standards for Better Health Carry out Duties in Accordance with The Health and Safety At work Act 1971 Move and handle patients in ways that promote the health of the patient, healthcare team and self and are consistent with legislation Assist with the maintenance of a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control procedures and best practice Assist and maintain a safe and hazard-free area of work Act in a professional manner and adhere to UHL uniform pol People Support members of the multidisciplinary team and volunteers to engage with people living with dementia and/or delirium / challenging behaviours Ensure that activities are provided in a culturally sensitive manner Performance & Operations Complete accurate documentation which highlights the engagement you have had with the patient. To have an awareness of and promote all initiatives to support the wellbeing of older people across Leicesters Hospitals Ensure that allocated equipment and materials are correctly stored, maintained and cleaned in line with infection prevention and health and safety procedures Ensure that all appropriate service meetings, supervision and in-service training sessions are attended.
