Summary


We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our friendly, supportive multidisciplinary team. You will be working alongside our trained nursing and therapy staff assisting them in the day to day care and management of our patients to ensure they receive safe, high quality nursing care on our rehabilitation unit at Queen Victoria Memorial Community Hospital in Welwyn.

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary (pro rata where applicable). You will participate in a 7 day working rota including long day shifts, night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.

QVM Hospital is a 22 bedded community hospital providing rehabilitation to adults following injury / illness / surgery. You will be working with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in the in-patient unit enabling patients to maximize their independence.

The post holder will carry out a broad range of patient care activities under supervision of a qualified nurse, maintaining patient privacy and dignity at all times. The role is flexible and dependent upon the assessed competency of the individual. The post holder will be required to work a rotational shift pattern between long days 11.5 hour shifts and 11.5 hour night duty shifts.
