Key Responsibilities
  • To support the Sector leadership team in demonstrating new creative food ideas to our clients – on the counter or in presentation meetings.
  • To lead and support development of new food concepts for the sector
  • Leading the delivery of food presentations to clients – showing them our new ideas and engaging our clients in a conversation about the future of food in their unit.
  • Creating new culinary ideas for these food presentations (e.g., themed recipes, menus)
  • Development and implementation of new food offers for the whole business
  • Training for culinary teams at all levels of craft skill
  • Lead and support other culinary activities that celebrate the food culture of the sector – e.g., designing/supporting internal chef competitions.
  • Supporting the mobilisation of new contracts when they join our business
  • Supporting unit chef challenges – relief support
  • Leading large high-profile hospitality events at our units
  • Over the course of a year you should expect you time to be split roughly equally between food presentations to clients, direct support and coaching, and development/execution of new food concepts and ideas

Person Specification
  • A real passion for food
  • An ability to demonstrate knowledge of food trends and development in a way that is inspiring and motivating for our clients
  • Creative food/food service background
  • Understanding of purchasing/sourcing products/ingredients
  • Experience of developing food concepts and implementation of these concepts
  • Experience of working in a fast paced/forward thinking environment
  • strong people skill with an ability to communicate effectively and influence
  • Ability to build relationships with lots of different types of people
  • Ability to direct others to achieve goals
  • Knowledge of different food production methods
  • Strong project management skills

Essential
  • Team player working in a busy environment
  • Be able to work on own initiative
  • Some travel included
  • Full driving license required
  • To train Unit Management staff and cooks and deliver great food at unit level
  • Work well within the school environment and be able to insipe young people
  • To have some flexibility around term time hours
  • DBS
  • Car essential - mileage covered
Desirable
  • To be creative and come up with new ideas for school food
  • Be involved with menu planning
  • Be able to strive for increased uptake at school level
  • Work alongside the management teams and strategic planning
  • Liaise with the School client attending client meetings when need be
