Summary


The Chair of Division - in conjunction with the Divisional Managing Director & Strategy Lead for Imaging as a triumvirate - will be accountable for the delivery of performance and cost improvement targets, service modernisation, development and clinical governance, within the Division.

They will have a key medical leadership role, with professional and managerial responsibility, via the Divisional Managing Director, for the Division’s Clinical Directors (three in post). They will also deputise for the Medical Director as appropriate in conjunction with the Chair for Pathology. We are also committed to providing leadership development and individualised career support to the candidate.

The Chair of Division will also, in conjunction with colleagues from the Senior Divisional Leadership Team, be responsible for:-
• Assuring effective and reliable care through high standards of clinical service and governance
• Delivering quality and service improvement and eliminate avoidable harm
• Delivering high operational performance
• Ensuring effective financial management practice through improved efficiency and profitability.

The Chair of Division is a key member of the Care Organisations leadership team and will contribute to strategic thinking and decision-making processes, with an overriding requirement to act in the corporate interests of the Division and its patients and Service Users/Clients.

The Chair of Division will ‘chair’ meetings of the Division, working closely with the Divisional Managing Director and other members of the Management team.

The Chair of Division will work closely with the Care Organisation Medical Director in dealing with matters associated with the performance, competence, and behaviour of medical staff in accordance with the Trust’s policy on ‘Managing High Professional Standards’.
