Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our team as an Events Officer. You will help drive the programming and delivery of an exciting and wide range of events in the Borough of Boston, such as the famous Boston May Fair and annual Christmas event as well as developing new events and supporting colleagues across the South & East Lincolnshire Councils partnership area.
Events are proven to increase footfall and dwell time in our town centres. You will seek out new and innovative ways through our town’s individual heritage, arts and culture to build on existing events and increase visitor numbers to our market towns.
The Events Officer will work as part of the events and markets team and will play an important role in helping develop town centre initiatives through events. Working collaboratively with new and existing partners and stakeholders will be crucial to increase delivery and capacity across both geographical areas.
An important element of this role will be to seek out and apply for additional funding to increase the current calendar of events on offer.
You will be experienced in the safe delivery of both small scale and large scale outdoor events, managing budgets and working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders to create vibrant events and festivals in the heart of Boston.
What we need from you:
• Experience of organising and delivering safe large scale outdoor events
• Experience of writing Event Management Plans
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, ideally in a related field
• Ability to work flexibly, including some weekend and evenings
