Summary


Part-time 15 hours per week.

We are looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic individual from a nursing/ laboratory background. You must have significant post registration experience of blood & blood product transfusion practice in a clinical/ or laboratory environment.

This post has a Trust wide remit which includes:-
• education & training
• blood transfusion related risk management
• service improvement
• clinical audit
• facilitation of change in the clinical environment
• provision of specialist transfusion advice.
• working as part of the Hospital Transfusion Team/Hospital Transfusion Committee
• liaising with service users

The laboratory is well equipped (Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics Vision analysers and manual Biovue), fully computerised (Clinisys LabCentre system), Blood Track TX and Haemobanks, fully IBMS accredited and HCPC approved for training.

You will be encouraged and supported to participate in further education, training and Continuing Professional Development.

This senior position requires a flexible, confident individual who can demonstrate excellent communication & interpersonal skills. You will be expected to liaise with all levels of staff involved in the transfusion process. The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team is essential. RBH has embarked on the roll out of BloodTrack TX to ensure regulatory requirements are met & to further improve patient safety.

The successful applicants will work in a varied, interesting & challenging role; the posts offer exposure to a wide range of different specialities. Appropriate experience is required, but additional training will be provided where necessary.
