In order to be eligible, you MUST meet ALL the following criteria.
- I am at least 18 years old at the time of application.
- I am a UK National.
- I will need to undertake and pass a medical assessment if successful.
- I am aware that this role is physically demanding, and that I have a high level of mobility and fitness to carry out this role.
- I will need to undertake, and pass, a paid Pathway Programme of training if successful.
- I can undertake shift work.
- I will be able to provide all the ID documents required to complete my pre-employment screening and security clearance.
The Operational Intelligence Units (OIUs) are part of Home Office Intelligence. OIUs include operational and non-operational staff who develop intelligence products to protect vulnerable people and communities while reducing the illegal population and the harm that it causes.
This exciting role offers you the opportunity to work proactively with internal and external partners across a large geographical area with a view to developing high quality intelligence packages to support the work of Immigration, Compliance and Enforcement (ICE) teams.
You will be part of a high performing team directed by the Field Intelligence Manager and key to the delivery of Immigration Enforcement priorities. They will actively develop relationships and be responsible for the identification and development of new workstreams and sources of intelligence.
The role will help in the development of intelligence skills and is an excellent and challenging opportunity for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively gather, assess, research, develop and disseminate intelligence in the appropriate format.
- Actively seek to develop relationships with both internal and external business partners in order to identify new work streams and sources of intelligence to develop high quality intelligence products for enforcement teams and criminal investigations.
- Undertake field visits to develop intelligence by visiting employers and stakeholders.
- Provide intelligence support to the Immigration Compliance Enforcement (ICE) teams deployed in the field.
- Actively participate in operational visits in order to direct the gathering of intelligence.
- To fill Intelligence gaps in line with tasking, undertaking debriefing of individuals where necessary and engaging with sources to identify and refer covert human intelligence opportunities.
- To focus on generating and developing regional campaign activity as directed by the Field Intelligence Manager and in adherence with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) instructions.
