Office based role
An enthusiastic and customer service focused Control Centre Operator is required to join the Sheltered Housing Team to provide a dedicated, sensitive and responsive service to all customers who are connected or approach the Control Centre.
This is an office based role. In the first week of training you will be working Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and from the second week you will be involved in 12 hours rota basis, working 6am-6pm, with every 2 in 5 weekends. Rotas will be issued months ahead.
Key responsibilities:
Respond to calls connected to the Control Centre and take the appropriate action to resolve them in line with policy and procedure. For example this might be to call an ambulance, book an emergency visit or activate the Emergency Plan should this need arise.
Maintain and keep up to date accurate records of all residents, calls, incidents and equipment connected with Control Centre.
Provide a dedicated, sensitive and responsive service to all customers who are connected or approach the Control Centre.
Respond to calls connected to the Control Centre and take the appropriate action to resolve them in line with policy and procedure, for example attending on site.
Respond to out of hours calls.
Activate the Emergency Plan should the need arise.
Work together as part of a team, ensuring continuity of the service, to provide a 24 hour service every day of the year, by operating a shift system. Also to provide short notice, emergency cover in the event of unforeseen absences of colleagues.
Maintain up- to-date and accurate records of all residents, calls, incidents and equipment connected with the Control Centre, demonstrating in all cases that policy and procedures were followed and describing the final outcome.
Promote, install, programme, test and maintain the equipment connected to the Control Centre. To diagnose and report any faults and take appropriate action.

Experience:
Experience of working with vulnerable adults or call centre background would be advantageous.
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Skills & Abilities:
Possess excellent customer service skills.
A calm and confident manner and approach, clear and fluent English skills.
An excellent listener.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
