The Cycas Commercial team is looking for a Revenue enthusiast, who is looking to take on a Cluster Revenue Manager role. Within this role you will look after 3-4 (combination of branded/unbranded) hotels to improve the strategic direction of this set. The team is looking for a pro-active and commercially focused revenue manager, who does not shy away from coming up with out of the box ideas (aligned with the commercial goals that are set for the properties). Our revenue managers are dynamic, innovative, and passionate about their hotels, constantly striving for solutions to close gaps in performance using market knowledge and data. We ensure sales and marketing strategies are aligned and this is a great opportunity to be part of not just a revenue team but an industry leading commercial team.
Key Accountabilities
• Drive Market Share and Revenue Performance
• Develop overall pricing strategy to include all market segments and distribution channels
• Effectively manage and be in control of all inventory for a group of hotels
• Ensure all distribution channels are optimised and managed accordingly
• Set Sales and Pricing Strategies for a group of hotels
• Produce accurate forecast on weekly and monthly basis
• Present and contribute during monthly owner’s and budget meetings
• Coach & develop on property team members responsible for groups and reservations
Key Responsibilities
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Daily reviews and implements room accommodation and rate inventory controls
Manages Group and Transient inventory
Responsible for quoting for groups and supporting hotels in managing groups in line with contracts and according to demand, including reviewing all tentative and definite group bookings in PMS to ensure accuracy
Works with hotel Reservations and Front Office to ensure agreed selling strategies are in place and worked towards (i.e. Overbooking and sell out efficiency)
SALES AND PRICING STRATEGY
Develops, monitors and adjusts sales, groups and pricing strategies
Monitors and regulates groups business at hotels to ensure that all groups statuses are accurate
Ensures pricing consistency across all distribution channels (Rate Parity)
Identifies Revenue and Sales opportunities through channels and recommends action accordingly
Liaises with market managers for key 3rd party operators
Reviews sales account production monthly with sales to identify patterns & volume of production to agree appropriate actions are taken
Provide group strategy according to seasons, events and more to improve performance.
Implements all blackout dates and reviews frequently to determine if adjustments are needed
Working with Marketing team to project manage promotions during low demand period, value add promotions and event periods.
Focus on lowering distribution costs and driving room nights to the most profitable channel
Ensure branded lowest rate promise is kept with no successful rate parity fee claimed.
REPORTING AND ANALYSIS
Provides analysis of yield strategies, room statistics and performance trends
Writes and reviews end of month revenue reports for each hotel such as booking pace, competitive share analysis and segmentation reports
Conducts displacement analysis of group business and sales negotiations to ascertain potential impact of business decisions on RevPAR and TrevPAR
Completes daily booking pick up reports and implements strategy changes
Provides a room type sold of monthly reports for each hotel to analyse past and present trends and makes recommendations for future strategies
Grow ability to forecast with in the industry standard +/- 5%
Prepares reports and other materials for regular meetings and business processes
KEY MEETINGS
Conducts weekly revenue meetings with hotels providing reports on the hotel performance historical and future business on the books, as well as upcoming strategies
Provide Executive Committee with regular revenue management updates.
Participate and explain market trends and hotel performance in monthly owners meeting
Present annual Budget to the Cycas Team and owners where applicable
Key Skills and Competencies
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Revenue Management role
Solid attention to detail and time management skills
Strong engagement and analytical skills
Proactive in achieving Rooms Revenue and MICE Revenue goals
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Analytical approach to problem solving and ability to “think outside the box”.
Effective ability to supervise, motivate, coach and develop reservations teams
Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations
Ability to train people and convey complex systems functionalities to a broad audience.
Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, enthusiasm and be a motivator
Ability to investigate systems malfunctions or user-input errors.
Ability to analyse data, make meaningful conclusions and base sound decisions and strategies on these.
Ability to adapt to a frequently changing market environment.
