Summary
Communication Build constructive and effective relationships with colleagues at all levels across the Health community; effectively utilise relationships and informal networks to successfully achieve delivery of strategy; share knowledge and build relationships. Establish effective channels of communication within the Trust and with the Occupational Health Service in support of delivering the services objectives. People leadership and management Provide inclusive, compassionate and effective leadership by setting clear vision and direction for the Occupational Health Service within AWP. Promote equality of opportunity in service delivery and employment, ensuring that no person receives less favorable treatment than another on the grounds of any protected characteristic. Provide training to managers and staff to ensure appropriate use of the Occupational Health Services. Ensure that key Occupational Health messages are cascaded throughout the organisation, working in partnership with the communication team, using a variety of communication tools including the Health and Wellbeing pages on the AWP intranet. Performance and information Ensure that the agreed key performance indicators for the Occupational Health Service are monitored and shared appropriately within the organisation, particularly relating to outcomes and essential standards to be met. Ensure that you work in partnership with the Occupational Health Service and the contract management group to develop business action plans to meet the needs of the organisation. Ensure that you understand all of the monitoring, auditing and reporting systems relevant to your services. Governance and policy Ensure that you understand all of the key governance requirements, policies and standards in relation to the Occupational Health Service. Lead and provide specialist advice to relevant aspects of policy-making, strategic planning, management and clinical governance in relation to Occupational Health, Monitor and exercise appropriate control over the budget for the provision of Occupational Health Services, ensuring that you understand the resources available to support provision of a high quality and cost-effective service. Financial and resource management Challenge and manage poor financial management and poor use of any resources from the Occupational Health Service. Manage and sign off Occupational Health related business invoices, Ensure that whenever you authorise expenditure you are thoughtful and careful about whether there could be a more cost-effective solution. Ensure that your use of resources is in accordance with AWP Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instructions. Stakeholder involvement Ensure that you are aware of the many stakeholders, for the Occupational Health Service Develop and maintain positive relationships with your key stakeholders, this may include proactive communications to ensure full involvement and engagement in the delivery of services and aims and objectives. Implement and lead effective two-way communications to ensure that the Service areas are responsive to the needs of our staff and managers.
