Summary

Accredited Financial Investigator (National Crime Agency)/Principal Regulatory Services Officer

Salary: Band 10, £40,220 to £44,428 per annum

Hours: Full time (37 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent

The Service:

The Regulatory Services team is responsible for delivering a pest control service, the regulation of clean air, port health border controls and sampling, health and safety, food hygiene and standards, trading standards, and other services, as well as licensing of hackney carriage and private hire operators, vehicles and drivers, licensing of premises and persons under the Licensing Act 2003 and gambling premises under the Gambling Act 2005.

The Role:

As an Accredited Financial Investigator (AFI) with 'Confiscator' status from the National Crime Agency (NCA) you will be positioned within the Trading Standards Service. The post holder will work alongside Trading Standards officers and employ the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA) and all associated legislation to positively impact Trading Standards investigations and pursue asset recovery opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed:

You will possess (and maintain) NCA accreditation at FIO, FI (part 8) and Restraint/Confiscation levels, possess or be prepared to undergo Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV level 2), and have working knowledge of JARD and FISS. You will have experience of conducting and advising on criminal investigations, have analytical skills, experience of giving evidence at court and presenting at committees and meetings, and experience and knowledge of conducting sound regulatory and enforcement practice, including the gathering and analysis of intelligence. You will have knowledge and experience of current Trading Standards priorities.
