Summary
Head of Business Development - Co-op Wholesale & Nisa

Manchester city centre (hybrid working)
We're looking for a Head of Business Development to join us to build the strategic sales plan for Co-op Wholesale and Nisa. You'll be accountable for all strategic sales opportunities in both the lead generation and execution to deliver a significant number of new customers in both new and existing markets.
As a Head of Business Development, we'll look to you to work cross-functionally; bringing together our Co-op Corporate Development, Franchise, Wholesale, and Nisa Retail teams to help make sure we're getting the most value from major strategic deals. In this role you'll work in a hybrid way - splitting your time between home, our customers' sites, and weekly visits to our Scunthorpe and/or Manchester offices (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).
What you'll do
- Build the strategic sales plan to explore and target significant opportunities for convenience retail, food service contracts, and export (e.g. contact strategy and contracts dated for renewal)
- Be accountable for the delivery of all strategic sales targets
- Build and maintain positive relationships with our Co-op Franchise and Development teams
- Create and deliver a success plan for Forecourt Convenience
- Lead a team of delivery experts; helping them to achieve great outcomes and supporting them in their development
- Pro-actively identify and explore continuous improvement opportunities; helping to drive business growth
This role would suit people who have
- Significant experience in a senior business development role within a corporate environment
- A background in large estates retail
- The ability to understand and anticipate how decisions will affect a long-term plans/visions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make priority judgement calls and resolve issues effectively
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge people (of all levels of seniority) inclusively
