My client is a large, complex public sector organisation based in Cardiff. They are looking for someone who has experience of developing and leading organisational development projects within a large organisation successfully.


Your new role

Reporting into the HR Director, you will be a key advocate for change and will take a leading role in the design and development of the organisation's professional services. You will also lead on people-related changes such as reconfigurations of workforce, employee relations and management of consultation processes should they arise. Responsibilities will also include but are not subject to:

  • Communicating an organisation wide vision, strategy and plan for organisation design, planning and delivering the HR aspects of strategic transformational projects and advising the professional services board and the executive board.
  • Design and develop structural models for professional services such as organisational charts, capability maps and reviewing gap analysis'.
  • Design, maintain and deliver all organisational design activities being processed and leading on the HR-related delivery of the activities to ensure everything is achieved to appropriate levels of time and quality.
  • Design, develop and facilitate workshops and events which ensure design models are co-created with staff and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure organisation design principles become embedded in recruitment and retention, learning and development and succession planning activities.
  • Lead cross function teams, personally responsible for the Organisational Design team, and matrix managing across the whole of the devolved HR profession within the project and implementation teams to successfully deliver on the objectives.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to be CIPD qualified with the following experience:

  • Experience of delivering organisational development programmes / initiatives.
  • Experience working at a senior level in a HR role
  • Experience of job evaluation and design
  • Experience in managing a formal consultation process (Desired)
  • Experience of TUPE (Desired)
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and organisational skills.
  • The ability to analyse complex workforce data and take lead and responsibility for complex workstreams.
  • Good written skills including the ability to prepare documents and presentations for stakeholders.

What you'll get in return

The organisation works on a hybrid basis which typically looks at 2 days per week in the Cardiff office. However, this may vary dependent on business needs. The role is a full-time, permanent position with the offering of up to £73,000 (experience dependent) with a range of benefits such as 14.5% pension contribution, death in service, yearly national pay awards, excellent annual leave allowance.
