Your new company
This fantastic nursery located in the Eastbourne area is looking for a Nursery SENCO to join their team. The organisation has nurseries in multiple locations across East Sussex, all of which hold Good to Outstanding Ofsted ratings. They are open 07:30 - 18:00, Monday to Friday all weeks of the year except for one week at Christmas. The nursery has large bright, spacious rooms with direct access to a garden with room for children to grow fruit and vegetables. Their curriculum focusses on building independence for all children, encouraging them to prepare their own drinks and snacks. The nursery supports children with their progress into school, offering additional support and guidance on 'School Readiness'.
Your new role
Your new role will be as an Early Years SENCO based at one of the nurseries in Eastbourne. As the Nursery SENCO, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within our setting. You will work closely with families, staff, and external agencies to ensure that every child receives the individualised support they need to reach their full potential. The Early Years SENCO will play a key role in ensuring colleagues are supported with SEN and coordinating the settings response to SEN. It is essential for Early Years setting to have regard for Special Educational Needs and disability code of practice, alongside ensuring there are arrangements in place to support and identify childre with SEN, whilst promoting equality of opportunity for children within the setting. Children are entitled to an education that helps them to achieve the best possible education and outcomes to become confident.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role you will need to hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years. Ideally, you will hold a SENCO qualification, however the nursery is open to supporting you witht the training you will need to obtain this so this isn't an essential criteria for the role. You will have a willingness to learn and develop within the role and have experience with working with SEN children.
