In West Lothian we believe that all children should get the best start in life and should get the help they need when they need it.

You will be based in our Child Disability Service providing a social work service to children and young people affected by disability and their parents/carers. This work includes the undertaking of Section 23 assessments, co-ordinating packages of support and developing Adult Carer Support Plans.

We offer a supportive working environment with induction for new staff, regular planned supervision, a controlled workload and a professional development plan with varied training opportunities.

Degree in social work or equivalent is essential. This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
