Summary
Keeping our armed forces running smoothly as a part-time medical doctor
As a medical doctor for the Capita Recruiting Partnering Project (RPP), you'll be carrying out efficient medical screenings at one of the Royal Navy Candidate Preparation Centres by making sure the right candidates pass assessment, you won't just be keeping the Royal Navy's recruitment process running smoothly, you'll also be helping to build lifelong careers in the Royal Navy. Working alongside a dedicated team of fellow medical doctors and other clinical staff, your work will contribute directly to our national security effort and make a huge difference in the local community. This role will be working part-time Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday on a fixed-term basis until September 2024
This role will be based at the Royal Navy Candidate Preparation Centre at HMS Caledonia (Rosyth) What you'll be doing
• conducting face-to-face medical assessments for Royal Navy and Royal Marine applicants
• Assessing candidate Primary Healthcare Records (PHCR) as part of the medical assessment process.
• Updating the Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP) with the findings and results of the candidate medical assessment including PHCR and the face to face examination.
• Assessing the clinical conditions of candidates and work with Royal Navy colleagues to determine their fitness for entry into the Royal Navy including the Royal Marines.
• Making recommendations to the Royal Navy colleagues on the medical suitability of the candidates.
• maintaining GMC registration, licence to practise, accreditation and skill mix
What we're looking for
• a fully GMC qualified medical practitioner with licence to practise
• IT literacy and experience with Microsoft programmes
• excellent organisational skills
• the ability to work effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines
• an effective communicator in person and on paper
