Due to the nature of this role involving personal care, we can only accept female candidates for this role
L is a 41 year old woman who lives in Yarm. She is looking for a personal assistant to support her. Initially the role is for 9 hours per week, spread across the week. Preferred hours are 11 am to 1 pm - 3 days per week with flexibility required to cover the remaining hours.
L lives with her mother, who currently provides her care. The home is wheelchair accessible.
L loves to use technology to assist with her care & independence. She enjoys learning and has experience of BSL.
The role would be to support with personal care, medication, monitoring of health conditions and some domestic tasks, such as cleaning, cooking & baking and any other tasks as needed
She would also like support to access the community when her health permits.
Applicants should have a full UK driver's licence and be able to drive her automatic Motability vehicle. Experience with a wheelchair hoist would be an advantage.
The role is to provide the medical, domestic and social assistance required to enable L to live as independantly. Respect of her privacy and confidentially is an essential attribute.
L is looking for someone who is proactive and open to learning new skills.
Due to her health conditions, it is essential that the successful candidate has had all relevant vaccinations and continues to keep these up to date.
Employment is subject to references and an Enhanced DBS check (the cost of this will be met by the employer)
